Beckmann brothers and their father Barthold Beckmann

The Beckmann brothers and their father Barthold Beckmann of "Auf Der Strodt" Lamstedt, Germany, Photo taken in the fall of 1934 at the home of Harry Beckmann, and Mary (Friedrichsen) Beckmann, 216-72nd street, Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, New York. Inset photo, is of their brother Georg (1892-1933) who had died the previous year in Germany of complications from war wounds suffered in the 1914-18 war. Georg had been a farmer. This farm still exists today in Germany. Georg's son Ludwig and his son Carsten are the current owners. Identified in this photo, bottom row left to right Barthold Dietrich (1890-1954), butcher, store owner, landlord, Richmond Hill, Queens, New York. Barthold Sr, (1861-1951) Lamstedt, Germany, cattle dealer and farmer. Henry (Hinrich), (1894-1939) deli store owner (2), 3rd & 4th Avenue, Brooklyn, New York. 2nd row left to right William (Wilhelm) (1907-2002) deli store owner Myrtle Avenue, Brooklyn, New York. Harry (Heinrich), (1894-1996) musician, butcher, restaurant and farmer. Carsten (Charlie) Beckmann, (1899-1977) deli, butcher business and Florida motel owner. This occasion being senior Barthold Beckmann's visit to his sons, in Brooklyn during 1934. Barthold senior also had a sister (Catherine) living in Gerritson Beach, Brooklyn. A brother Henry, (Pioneer farmer) of Hillsdale, Michigan. And his youngest brother William, (a building contractor) of Long Island. Two other brothers John (a grocer) of Lynbrook, Long Island and Charles (a hotel owner) of Leonia, New Jersey, died in the 1920's.
